12.28.11 - Gracious Hosts

Jason and Kim's awesome Christmas Tree
As we depart Portland today, I really need to give a big shout out to my brother-in-law Jason, and his wife, Kim.  I don't know too many people that would open their home and lives to an invading army of family - we've moved from party size to army size in this posting - for newly two weeks.  Not only are they great hosts, but they do so very graciously.

Arriving at their house each December feels like coming home because of how comfortable and homey they make it.  Who am kidding? It's all the work of Kim.  She does a great job decorating and creating a home for us these couple weeks and year round for her own family.  Jason, is all about the entertainment.  He's got every night scheduled and planned for the kids to make sure they have the best visit possible. From trips to the coast, up to the mountain, Blazer games, or watching Christmas movies he makes sure to keep everyone busy and having fun.  It's no wonder my kids love them so much!

And I can't forget the kids' cousin Kobe....  For two weeks he gives up his bedroom and space so we can have a place to sleep.  Then he puts up with all these other kids in the house that is usually his to rule!

I just can't say enough about how lucky we are to have such awesome family.  Everyone should be so lucky to be us!
