12.21.11 - Another Fashion Faux Pas

I came to Oregon without a warm coat to wear.  I'm not certain why or what I was thinking, but I packed nothing warmer than a sweatshirt.  So, in need of something to wear during these cold evenings out I took advantage of a sale at Old Navy (and no sales tax in Oregon) and went looking for a warm coat.  I found a suitable jacket and after Makela gave her approval for any color except orange, I immediately grabbed an orange one off the rack and headed to the counter.  This was three days ago and I've been wearing the coat regularly since then.

On our way to lunch today, Makela yelled at me "OMG! Dad! Are you kidding me?!"  She came up to me with a horrified look on her face, raised my left arm and removed the price tag that was still hanging from the jacket.  For three days I have been out and about in my new orange jacket with the price tag hanging from my arm pit.

Makela just shook her head in disgust, Marcy shrugged her shoulders with a "what are you gonna do?" expression, and I just laughed about the whole thing.  If anything, I guess my fashion sense keeps everyone on their toes.

  1. I thought that was part of the new fashion statement! Don't tell Makela, but I guess I better go thru and check all my clothes in my closet now. :-)
