12.1.12 - The Christmas Puff

If you've followed this blog in year's past or just know a little about our family, it would come as no surprise that Christmas decorations are important in our house.... at least those inside the house.

This year, the most talked about Christmas decoration is on the outside of our house though.  Marcy found the idea on Pinterest - the gathering place of all things creative online - and decided it would make a cool wreath on our front door.

As with many projects, the scale and actual labor required often differ from the instructions and Marcy ended up putting in three hours, a labor of love for the holidays, to make a special Christmas Wreath for our front door.  Instead of a wreath - in the traditional sense of the word - she created more of what we're calling, a Christmas Puff.

The Christmas Puff in a Day/Night comparison
These pictures really don't do it justice.  To appreciate the size and scope of this, you have to attempt to open or walk through the front door and realize what an obstacle it is.  I myself, with long arms, cannot open the door without the Christmas Puff hitting me in the face. When the lights are plugged in at night, the Christmas Puff shines bright for all the world to see!  At it's very least, it is a great marker to give people coming to our house.

As much as we've teased her about the most talked about new decoration of the holiday season, I know the whole family really does like Marcy's new Christmas wreath. It's fun, unique, can be seen from space, and is a great symbol of a fun and special holiday season.

Christmas Song of the Day
This year, I thought I'd share/spotlight a Christmas song of the day since our family loves Christmas music so much.
